[REDeye] 1st Rifles Weekly Report

Report W03-7-17

A week full of packed out Ops and Rifles showing us their stuff with plenty of Promotions.

[REDeye] Ins COOP Ops ‘The Wednesday Weekly’

This week saw a big turnout for the weekly INS COOP Ops. With several Rifles stepping up and leading well. All three servers were at capacity for a number of hours. Highlighting once again that Insurgency is a core game for this Group and should not be overlooked as we look forward to the future.

The second running of our weekly Project Reality Ops was excellent overall. With several maps played not normally seen in the regular rotation. Including a nearly dark night map where we were set up as Insurgent forces.

We did suffer from some technical issues that saw the server restart on a couple of occasions. Not ideal but manageable given that the server is co hosted by the <GDO> Clan from a home premises.

A decent turnout for [FnF] had all the obligatory scares and intense moments. We played with a new game mode ‘firefight’ added to the mix. As well as all the regulars. It was a late night for some with the event running into the wee hours of Saturday morning. The next [FnF] is scheduled for two weeks time.

[redeye] arma 3 coop ops ‘the big picture saturday’

The ARMA 3 Ops have been going from strength to strength as more Members get their heads around the setup and the game itself. The Company fought through several Objectives to sweep and clear areas of Insurgent forces. With 2 Assault Squads and 2 Over watch Squads the battlespace really took on a life of its own. Using several insertion methods from Halo jumps and Helo inserts to driving up in a column, there was plenty of fun had by all.

As always we have had a good week of promotions. It’s always great to see a Rifle show their stuff and take on more responsibilities within the Company, so let’s take a moment to congratulate the following Rifles for their successes:

sENIOR nco’S

Sergeant Frosty.

I quote LT :DK, “I’d like to recommend CPL Frosty for promotion. A long time serving Rifle, CPL Frosty’s commitment to the Company is unquestionable. I have been through countless Operations with him by my side to see what he has achieved and performed for the Company.

His versatility is evident through his adept skill, knowledge and teamwork displayed in both Insurgency and ARMA battlegrounds. Indeed, his abilities as a Rifle stretch across many roles – I have seen him appropriately switch between the roles of Marksman, AT/AA and CAS (including jet piloting).

The most impactful attribute of CPL Frosty is his communication with other squad members – whether they are questions or answers. This makes him a valuable member of any squad in any tactical situations and a great role model – very worthy of a senior NCO position.”

An excellent citation for one of our best and brightest. HQ could not agree more. The SGT is a fine example for us all to follow.

Company Commander
[REDeye] 1st Rifles Company.

Warrant Officer class two Ping Law.

WO2 Ping Law has a distinguished record. With all in the Company coming to know his fearsome battlefield skill and quick thinking. It is his leadership of the Rifles around him that has ensured he stand out from the crowd. His leadership ability has gone from strength to strength, with growing confidence he has proven his tactical mettle.

Company HQ are always looking out for the future leaders of the 1st Rifles. Those that can rise to the challenge of not only Admin duty, but steering the Company forward and into the future. WO2 Ping Law is a fine example of what we are looking for.

Well done WO2. Keep up the excellent standards and demand the same from those around you.

Warrant Officer class two Sheepies-The Sacred.

The WO2 has risen through the 1st Rifles Ranks with distinction. His presence both on and off the battlefield cannot be overstated. He is quick to lend a hand and supports the Company in every endeavour.

With this promotion he will be taking on even more responsibility with the addition of Admin priveledges and an expectation to demand excellence from himself and those around him.
WO2 Sheepies-The Sacred has been dedicated to the Company for longer than most and deserves to be congratulated for his efforts.

It is with great pleasure that we announce this promotion and are assured of further excellence in the future.

The LCPL has been ever present this last week. With the promotion to Lance Corporal HQ are always excited to see how a Rifle will step up and into the role, with an eye to the future. LCPL Wibs has performed very well. Taking command on several occasions and leading the less experienced Rifles and Public Partisans through some difficult Objectives.

An example of the LCPLs influence can be seen here where I quote LCPL Wolf_Bridge, “I have personally seen LCPL Wibs cap and hold checkpoint alpha on verticality with himself and one other ….. this Rifle frequently pulls victory out of the jaws of defeat. Always an honour to fight with the LCPL and an absolute pleasure to watch as a spectator.”

It is reports of this type and the LCPLs presence in any battle space that have ensured he be noticed and recognised this week as our Group Player of the Week. Well done.
